Adams Details His Last-Minute Supercross Debut Success
The 16-year-old Drew Adams made an impressive Monster Energy AMA Supercross debut at Angel Stadium, stepping in for the injured Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki teammates Garrett Marchbanks and Ty Masterpool in the 250SX West Region.

After making his AMA Pro Racing debut last summer at the Ironman National with 15-11 moto scores, Adams showcased his talent at Anaheim by starting sixth and finishing eighth in the main event.
"I didn't really have any expectations coming in. I just wanted to learn and I think I did just that," Adams reflected. "Not many rookies get eighth in their first pro supercross race, so I was happy with it."

Comparing his Supercross and Pro Motocross experiences, Adams noted the different pace and atmosphere. "The supercross vibe in the pits was really cool. Once the opening ceremonies happen, the vibe completely switches up and you get in race mode and the fans are acting crazy."
Adams took a measured approach to his debut, choosing not to chase too much too soon. "That's the thing about rookies that have been doing good in the amateurs and then coming into the pro classes. They just want to really show everybody what they've got," he explained. "I just wanted to go out there and learn and not get hurt and make good laps."
Looking ahead to upcoming races like Glendale, Adams plans to "drop the hammer a little bit" as he gains more experience in the professional ranks.
