Acura Integra Type S Named Safety Car for Rolex 24, HRC President Watanabe to Start Race
Koji Watanabe, HRC Global President, will serve as honorary starter for the 63rd Rolex 24 At Daytona, waving the green flag this Saturday afternoon.

The 2024 race will feature the Acura Integra Type S as the Official Safety Car, marking Acura's second appearance as pace car in three years, following the NSX Type S in 2023.
"Acura and HRC's significant presence at this year's Rolex 24 demonstrates our commitment to the sport," said David Salters, Honda Racing Corporation USA President. "From our Acura ARX-06 race cars to the Integra Type S pace cars, and HRC Global President Watanabe's involvement, we're proud to partner with IMSA for this legendary race."
Watanabe, who became HRC Global President in 2022, brings 38 years of Honda experience to the role. His appointment coincided with HRC's expansion to include both motorcycle and automotive racing operations. His previous leadership positions included overseeing European and Chinese operations, along with managing global brand development and corporate communications.
