2024 proved pivotal for Alex Yankowski's Modified career, with achievements including the Fonda Speedway Modified championship, SDS Summerfast title, Freedom 76 race victory, and the Short Track Super Series South Region championship.

Before returning to Modified racing in 2025, Yankowski faces a new challenge - his debut at the prestigious Chili Bowl in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He'll join fellow northeast modified driver Mat Williamson, competing for Keith Kunz Racing with sponsorship from the Ferris Factory Team.

The opportunity emerged through networking, with Dave Dombrowski of Wilwood Brakes connecting Yankowski to Pete Willoughby of KKR. Ferris, a New York-based lawn mower manufacturer, stepped in as the primary sponsor.

Though relatively new to midget racing, Yankowski has some experience, having previously driven Tanner Thorson's and Steve Buckwalter's cars. Recently, he showcased his adaptability by winning at Millbridge in Brian Carber's car.

Yankowski acknowledges the pressure of driving for Keith Kunz Racing but remains focused on enjoying the opportunity while aiming for victory. Kevin Bates, his Modified crew chief, will assist the KKR crew on the Ferris Factory Team No. 84Y.

After the Chili Bowl, Yankowski will return to Modified racing, likely maintaining a similar schedule to 2024, which saw him compete in 85 races, securing 6 wins and 44 top-five finishes. He joins the ranks of Modified drivers who have competed in the Chili Bowl, including Tim McCreadie, Stewart Friesen, Billy Pauch Jr., and Timmy Buckwalter.

Despite being just 12 when he started racing sportsman at Big Diamond Speedway, Yankowski's talent and determination suggest he'll be competitive in Tulsa, though success at the Chili Bowl often depends on luck as much as skill.
