DIRTcar Champion Mat Williamson Set for First Chili Bowl Run with KKM
Mat Williamson, the two-time Super DIRTcar Series champion from St. Catharines, Ontario, will make his debut at the 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Williamson will compete with Keith Kunz Motorsports (KKM), an elite team that has claimed eight Chili Bowl Saturday night main events and fielded cars for notable drivers like Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, and Buddy Kofoid.
"To race with Keith Kunz, which obviously that's a top-notch ride," Williamson said. "I think if you're going to do it one way, this is how you got to do it. I'm pretty excited about the opportunity."
While Williamson isn't primarily known for small car racing, he draws inspiration from Modified drivers like Tim McCreadie, Billy VanInwegen, and Larry Wight, who have found success at the Chili Bowl. He'll benefit from KKM's extensive experience and technical knowledge.
Despite being a newcomer to the event, Williamson maintains his competitive mindset. "To make the A-Main on Saturday would be a huge accomplishment," he stated. "I try never to sell myself short. I think that anytime you go to the racetrack and you don't expect to win, you're setting yourself up for failure beforehand."
Williamson will join fellow Northeast Modified talent Alex Yankowski among hundreds of drivers competing for the prestigious Golden Driller trophy.
