The test session will feature Formula 2 racer Isack Hadjar handling the young driver test on Tuesday, while Tsunoda will conduct tire testing duties. This marks Tsunoda's first time in a Red Bull car, providing him valuable experience with the team's engineering staff and the RB20.
Both Tsunoda and RB teammate Liam Lawson are being considered as potential replacements for Perez, who finished eighth in the drivers' championship this season. Horner praised Lawson's performance under challenging circumstances and acknowledged Tsunoda's strong showing throughout the year.
Regarding Perez's situation, Horner emphasized the Mexican driver's contributions to Red Bull since 2021, including five victories and a second-place finish in the world championship last year. While discussions about Perez's future continue, Horner noted the disappointing end to his season with a retirement in the final race.
The upcoming tire test represents a crucial evaluation opportunity for both Tsunoda and Hadjar, as Red Bull considers its driver lineup options for the future.
