Built by Chris Evans Inc. (CEI), these 600 rear-wheel horsepower machines weigh 2900 pounds and run on 18-inch Pirelli P ZERO slicks, powered by previous-generation NASCAR engines. They've been competing in the Western Championship's XGT class since 2023 but will now form their own class due to growing participation.

Technical director Aaron Coalwell emphasizes that having a single supplier makes inspection easier and helps control development costs. The TA Cup cars will initially race alongside TA and GT classes until numbers grow sufficiently to warrant a separate race group.

The vehicles represent a collaborative effort between industry experts Jerry Pitts, Jeff Jefferson, Aaron Coalwell, and Chris Rohm. Chris Evans, two-time Western Championship winner and owner of CEI, highlights the cars' simple concept and straightforward rules as key advantages for cost control and technical inspection.

The CEI cars recently demonstrated their competitive potential at Circuit of The Americas, with Will Rodgers securing victory in both National and Western Championship competition in the XGT class, finishing second overall.

Key Features of TA Cup Cars:

  • 600 rear-wheel horsepower
  • 2900-pound weight
  • 18-inch Pirelli P ZERO slicks
  • Previous generation NASCAR engines
  • Single-supplier construction
  • Eligible for Western and National Championships
