Tanner Thorson claimed victory in Thursday's Hasty Bake Qualifying Night at the 39th annual Chili Bowl Nationals, securing his spot in Saturday's A-Feature after a thrilling battle with Ryan Bernal and Christopher Bell.

The race featured multiple lead changes, with Thorson leading early before Karter Sarff took command on laps 3-4. Thorson regained the lead on lap 5, but Christopher Bell moved to the front on lap 10. The decisive moment came when Thorson reclaimed the top spot on lap 25 and held off a fierce three-wide challenge from Bernal and Bell on the final restart.

The finishing order saw Thorson take the win, followed by Ryan Bernal in second and Christopher Bell in third. Matt Westfall advanced from eighth to finish fourth, while Jacob Denney impressed with a run from 11th to fifth.

Thursday's event featured 79 drivers, bringing the total event count to 292 competitors. The flip count reached 39, with all drivers walking away unharmed.
