
Sophia Floersch Joins HMD Motorsports for 2025 Indy NXT Campaign
German racer Sophia Floersch will compete in the 2025 Indy NXT championship with HMD Motorsports, marking a significant career shift to the United States.

The 24-year-old brings extensive experience from FIA Formula 3, DTM, FIA World Endurance Championship, and European Le Mans Series. She recently tested with HMD at Barber Motorsports Park, demonstrating her readiness for the American racing scene.
"I'm excited about joining HMD Motorsports and coming to the United States," Floersch said. "The United States is more open to embracing female racers, which makes me very optimistic about the future. The sport, racing, cars, and tracks here are real and pure."
Floersch will join a strong roster at HMD, including fellow rookies Hailie Deegan and Tommy Smith, alongside experienced drivers Caio Collet, Josh Pierson, Bryce Aron, and Nolan Allaer.
HMD team president Mike Maurini expressed confidence in Floersch's potential, stating their commitment to helping her advance to the NTT IndyCar Series. Her first race will be in March at St. Petersburg.
