Sears and Holland Make DIRTcar Nationals Debut, Gain Early Season Experience
Tim Sears Jr. and Amy Holland made their DIRTcar Nationals debuts at Volusia Speedway Park, gaining valuable early-season experience before the Northeast racing season begins.
Sears, from Hastings, N.Y., achieved consistent results throughout the week, with finishes of 15th (twice), 17th, and a week-best 14th place on Saturday night. He noted the significant differences between racing in Florida compared to tracks back home.
"This place is different from anything we got back home," Sears explained. "We probably can't take many notes back home with us, but it was a good experience. We learned what to do and what not to do."

Amy Holland, piloting the HBR Racing No. 5, faced an additional challenge as she entered the event with limited big-block Modified experience. Despite this, she successfully qualified for every feature event and secured a best finish of 14th on Friday night.
"This was definitely a big learning experience," Holland reflected. "To be able to run a big block is an absolutely amazing opportunity and so much fun. Getting in the car in February gives us more seat time at a different race track and more notes for the season."
Holland plans to continue racing weekly at Brewerton and Fulton Speedways while participating in selected big-block Modified events with the HBR team.
Both drivers emphasized the advantages of getting early-season track time in February, which should prove beneficial as they head into their regular Northeast racing schedules.
