Alex Yankowski became the first Pennsylvania driver to win the prestigious "Big Gator" trophy at the Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park. At just 20 years old, this achievement adds to his record as the youngest winner in Series history.

Yankowski's championship run included:

  • 1 win
  • 3 top-five finishes
  • 4 top-ten finishes

This success marked a significant improvement from his 2024 DIRTcar Nationals debut, where he struggled to crack the top 10 in three starts. The victory came down to a nail-biting finale, with Yankowski finishing eighth in the 50-lap Feature to edge out Mat Williamson by just three points.

"I think it's a testament to how hard the team has worked," Yankowski said. "We race anywhere we could. We don't have any boundaries or limits."

The victory adds to Yankowski's impressive resume, which includes:

  • Youngest Super DIRTcar Series winner at age 17 (2021 World of Outlaws World Finals)
  • Second SummerFAST champion in event history
  • First Pennsylvania driver to win the DIRTcar Nationals Big Gator trophy

As one of dirt racing's rising stars, Yankowski recognizes his role in leading the next generation of drivers. "I've already seen the landscape change a little bit," he noted, acknowledging the sport's evolution from veterans like Brett Hearn and Billy Decker to current stars and upcoming young talent.

The Super DIRTcar Series continues with its 2025 championship season opener at New Egypt Speedway, New Jersey, for the Power in the Pines event on March 29.
