Ryan Blaney Claims Pole in Ford-Dominated Atlanta Cup Series Qualifying

Ryan Blaney claimed pole position for Sunday's Atlanta Motor Speedway NASCAR Cup Series race, leading a remarkable Ford performance that secured nine of the top 10 starting positions. Blaney's lap speed of 179.371mph (30.908s) marked his first Atlanta pole and 11th career Cup Series pole.

Team Penske dominated qualifying with Austin Cindric securing second place (179.359mph), while Wood Brothers Racing's Josh Berry took third (179.139mph). Joey Logano rounded out the Penske stronghold in fourth (178.827mph).

Notable qualifying results include:

  • Kyle Busch: 6th (only non-Ford in top 10)
  • William Byron (Daytona 500 winner): 16th
  • Daniel Suarez (defending race winner): 29th
  • Denny Hamlin: 37th (slowest among full-time chartered teams)

Ford's dominance extended beyond the top positions, with Todd Gilliland (5th), Zane Smith (7th), Chris Buescher (8th), Brad Keselowski (9th), Noah Gragson (10th), and Ryan Preece (11th) all showing strong pace.

This single-car qualifying session serves as the only track time teams will get before Sunday's Ambetter Health 400, which starts at 3pm ET.
