A safety car deployment on lap 29, triggered by David Beckmann's incident at Turn 12, bunched up the field and gave Rowland the opportunity he needed. Using his Attack Mode advantage strategically after the restart, Rowland executed a series of masterful overtakes, passing Jake Dennis, Pascal Wehrlein, and Antonio Felix da Costa in quick succession.

Another safety car appearance followed due to Mitch Evans's collision with Mueller, but Rowland maintained his lead after the final restart on lap 33. Despite da Costa's pressure in the closing laps, Rowland held on to claim his first podium finish in Mexico City.

Key race highlights:

  • Wehrlein led the first 15 laps from pole position
  • Dennis briefly held the lead before being overtaken by da Costa
  • Jean-Eric Vergne finished fifth after starting third
  • Taylor Barnard impressed with a climb from 19th to 10th place

Championship standings:

  • Da Costa leads with two consecutive second-place finishes
  • Rowland moves to second, 12 points behind
  • Evans maintains third, tied with Rowland
  • Wehrlein sits fourth after securing pole positions and third place

TAG Heuer Porsche now leads the Teams' championship with double the points of NEOM McLaren, while defending champions Jaguar TCS Racing hold third position.

The race's multiple safety car periods impacted several drivers' Attack Mode strategies, resulting in penalties for Edoardo Mortara, Sebastien Buemi, and Lucas di Grassi, who finished 13th, 17th, and 16th respectively.
