
RLL Names Toby Sowery as IndyCar Reserve and Development Driver
British driver Toby Sowery joins Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) as their reserve and development driver for the 2025 season, following his impressive performance with Dale Coyne Racing last year.

In his new role, Sowery will:
- Work on Honda's Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) simulator
- Assist with hybrid deployment strategy development
- Provide feedback on RLL vehicle models
- Serve as backup driver if needed
The 28-year-old brings valuable experience from both IndyCar and sports car racing, including a notable victory at the Dubai 24 Hours. His appointment strengthens RLL's development program and positions him well for future racing opportunities.
"The opportunity to join RLL allows me to expand on my IndyCar debut while contributing directly to the team's continued growth and success," said Sowery. "I'm committed to pushing myself and learning from some of the best in the sport."
