The exchange began when Wolff criticized Horner for describing George Russell's behavior at the Qatar Grand Prix as "hysterical." Horner clarified that his comment referred to Russell's reaction to his team's tire choice, not his psychological state.

"I love terriers — I think they are great dogs!" Horner responded, sharing that he's owned four terriers, including two Airedales and two West Highland terriers named Bernie and Flavio. He added that terriers' loyalty and willingness to challenge bigger dogs make the comparison a compliment.

Addressing the broader tension between Red Bull and Mercedes, Horner emphasized his team's achievements: "We've won 122 races, we've won 14 world championships. I think we're doing all right."

Regarding the conflict between Verstappen and Russell, Horner defended his driver's straightforward nature and dismissed concerns about potential on-track incidents. He attributed the heightened drama to "end-of-term blues" and "pantomime season" as the Formula 1 season concludes.

The Red Bull team principal maintained a measured response throughout, focusing on ending the season positively rather than escalating tensions with Mercedes management.
