Robert Shwartzman, PREMA's rookie driver, demonstrated strong potential by reaching the top position twice during testing and finishing third-fastest overall, just 0.175 seconds behind leader Marcus Ericsson of Andretti Global. Teammate Callum Ilott overcame early technical issues to secure fourth place, 0.247 seconds behind the leader.

The European team's successful debut can be attributed to its blend of experienced PREMA personnel and seasoned IndyCar veterans, including Ilott's former race engineer Steve Barker from Juncos Hollinger. This combination of expertise has provided a solid foundation for the team's American racing venture.

"For a first day, it's probably one of the best first days you can get," said Ilott, who previously achieved success with PREMA in European racing. "The team's happy, and we've got a lot of things to work on and improve, but being close to the pace so quickly was pretty impressive."

PREMA's established history of adapting quickly to new racing challenges, combined with their technical expertise, suggests a promising future in IndyCar. The team will continue their testing program at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, focusing on further development and refinement of their performance.
