Penske Entertainment Takes Control of Nashville IndyCar Season Finale Promotion
Penske Entertainment has assumed control of the NTT IndyCar Series season finale promotions at Nashville Speedway, taking over from Scott Borchetta's Big Machine Music City GP team.

IndyCar racers battle in Nashville race
The transition follows Big Machine's successful three-year run organizing the Nashville Grand Prix street race from 2021-2023. When local construction for the Tennessee Titans NFL stadium displaced the downtown race in 2024, Borchetta secured a multi-year agreement with Speedway Motorsports Inc. to host the season finale at Nashville Superspeedway.
Under Borchetta's leadership, the event flourished with downtown launch parties, live performances from Big Machine Records artists, and extensive promotional efforts. Despite orchestrating one of the season's most exciting oval races, Penske Entertainment has now stepped in to manage operations.
Borchetta will maintain involvement as the event sponsor and continue hosting the downtown Nashville launch event for the upcoming race scheduled for August 30-31 in Lebanon, Tennessee.
This change reflects Penske Entertainment's growing influence over IndyCar events. The company now manages or significantly influences numerous races including:
- Long Beach Grand Prix
- Indianapolis Grand Prix
- Indianapolis 500
- Detroit Grand Prix
- Iowa Speedway doubleheader
- Milwaukee
- Nashville
- Arlington Grand Prix (upcoming 2026)
- Denver street race (planned for 2027)
An official announcement from the series regarding this transition is expected soon.
