Despite falling short in the drivers' championship battle against Max Verstappen, Norris believes the 2024 season has taught him valuable lessons about his capabilities. "I think the one thing I've learned this year is probably to believe in myself a bit more," Norris reflected, acknowledging both his strengths and areas for improvement.
The McLaren driver's victory in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix highlighted his growing confidence, prompting him to declare over team radio that "next year is going to be my year too." This statement stems from his demonstrated ability to compete at the highest level throughout the season.
Looking ahead to 2025, Norris feels prepared to enter the season with championship aspirations from the start – a first for both him and McLaren. He emphasized his recent strong performances in the final races of 2024 and his improved understanding of what it takes to compete at the top level.
"I've learned that I have what it takes," Norris stated, balancing confidence with self-awareness. "I know I made my mistakes, I know what I'm capable of doing, and I know if I can improve on these things it's definitely possible." While acknowledging the competitive threat from teams like Ferrari, Norris remains optimistic about his chances in the upcoming season.
