Verstappen secured the title with a fifth-place finish in Las Vegas, prompting Norris to praise his rival's consistency throughout the year. "He's not put a foot wrong the whole year," Norris commented. "When he's had the quickest car, he dominated races. When he's not in the quickest car, he's still been just behind us and almost winning anyway."
The McLaren driver noted that Verstappen's worst finish was fifth place, highlighting the champion's remarkable consistency. However, Norris suggested that the season could have been more challenging for Verstappen if McLaren had been competitive from the start.
"I think if we had a better car at the beginning of the year, we would have been fighting him a lot more, and he would have been a lot more under pressure than he's ever been," Norris explained. He observed that when McLaren did apply pressure, both Verstappen and Red Bull showed signs of vulnerability, though these moments were rare in the context of the entire season.
Despite some criticism of Red Bull's dominance, Norris maintained respect for Verstappen's achievements, noting that the champion "gets everything out of the car every time," and acknowledging there are "always things to learn" from such consistent performance.
