The race began dramatically when Max Verstappen collided with Oscar Piastri at Turn 1, sending both cars spinning. Verstappen received a 10-second penalty for the incident. Meanwhile, Ferrari's Carlos Sainz moved into second place, with teammate Charles Leclerc making an impressive climb from 19th to 8th on the first lap alone.
A crucial moment came when Valtteri Bottas tagged Sergio Perez, forcing the Mexican's retirement and eliminating Red Bull's chances of finishing higher than third in the constructors' championship.
Ferrari attempted to challenge for the lead through Sainz, but Norris maintained control throughout, eventually winning by 5.8 seconds. Sainz finished second, while Leclerc completed a remarkable recovery to third place, having gained 16 positions during the race.
Lewis Hamilton finished fourth after starting 16th, executing a brilliant pass on teammate George Russell in the closing laps. Verstappen recovered to sixth, followed by Pierre Gasly, Nico Hulkenberg, Fernando Alonso, and Oscar Piastri completing the top 10.
The victory marked a historic moment for McLaren, ending their 26-year wait for a constructors' title. Norris celebrated the team's achievement, saying, "It feels incredible. The team have done an amazing job this year to come from where we were at the beginning."
