Nissan's EV Director Brendan Jones Departs to Lead NRG EVgo's Fast-Charging Network
NRG EVgo has appointed former Nissan North America's EV Director, Brendan Jones, to support their DC fast charger infrastructure expansion. Jones spent over 20 years at Nissan, most recently serving as Director of Electric Vehicle Sales and Infrastructure Deployment.
During his tenure at Nissan, Jones played a crucial role in achieving sales of more than 30,000 LEAFs in the US market. His transition to NRG EVgo reflects his commitment to advancing EV adoption through the development of a comprehensive national DC fast charging network that serves all electric vehicle manufacturers.
Jones emphasizes that as EV options increase and common concerns about range and aesthetics diminish, a robust and reliable charging infrastructure becomes critical for widespread EV adoption. His move to NRG EVgo represents a strategic step toward establishing a universal charging network that supports the entire EV industry's growth.
"I feel that the next level for EVs is building the premier national DC fast charging network. This is an accomplishment that is aimed at serving not just one OEM, but all EVs into the future," states Jones, highlighting his vision for the future of electric vehicle infrastructure.
