The Renault Twingo returns as an affordable electric vehicle, featuring retro-inspired design and modern technology. Set to launch in 2026 with a price tag under £17,000, this compact EV promises around 185 miles of range.

The interior combines vintage charm with contemporary features, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7.0-inch digital driver's display. Unique design elements include colored cork flooring and skateboard wheel-inspired seat adjustment knobs.

The cabin features innovative touches like magnetic front seat headrests that double as phone mounts for rear passengers.

Exterior styling pays homage to the original 1990s Twingo, featuring round headlights and a distinctive bubble shape. The new model includes practical five-door configuration while maintaining a sporty appearance.

Built on the same platform as the Renault 5, the Twingo will use a smaller battery than the 5's 40kWh pack. With an efficiency rating of 6.2 miles per kWh, the expected 30kWh battery should deliver approximately 185 miles of range.

While UK availability remains unconfirmed, the Twingo's competitive pricing positions it just above the Dacia Spring and significantly below the Fiat 500 Electric, making it an attractive option in the affordable EV segment.
