Mike Gular's path forward has taken a new direction for the 2025 racing season. After years of success with car owner Terry Fasnacht's No. 2A modified team, Gular is now establishing his own racing operation following Fasnacht's passing last summer.

The veteran driver from Boyertown, PA is launching a two-car team, fielding modifieds for himself and his 15-year-old son Chase, who competes in the Crate 602 Sportsman division. Gular will return to his family's traditional No. 53, moving away from the familiar No. 2A.

The 2024 season proved challenging for Gular, going winless after securing eight victories in 2023. Despite the lack of wins, he maintained consistency with a third-place points finish at Grandview Speedway.

For 2025, Gular's operation includes:

  • Primary focus on Grandview Speedway's schedule
  • Select special events, starting with Port Royal in March
  • One car each for Mike and Chase
  • Multiple engine options including spec and open motors
  • Support from sponsors like MB Roofing, Weaknecht Archery, and Extreme Mechanical

"I basically just decided to start my own deal," Gular explained. "We have a pretty good start now with one car for me and one car for Chase. We'll focus on Grandview and try to bounce around when we can."

The team currently operates from a two-bay garage, with equipment familiar to Gular from his previous team. While space and resources are limited compared to his previous situation, Gular remains optimistic about building for the future while managing a more focused racing schedule.

With new track rules in place for 2025, Gular maintains a practical outlook: "The good guys will figure it out. Like I said, it's the same for everybody so nobody will have a big advantage over anybody else."
