McLaren F1 Technical Architect Prodromou Signs Long-Term Contract Extension
McLaren has extended technical director Peter Prodromou's contract in recognition of his crucial role in the team's recent Formula 1 success. Prodromou, who oversees aerodynamics, was instrumental in McLaren's journey from midfield contender to 2024 constructors' champions.
Team principal Andrea Stella praised Prodromou's leadership, highlighting his significant contribution to McLaren's ninth Formula 1 Constructors' Championship. The contract extension reinforces McLaren's commitment to maintaining technical stability alongside recent renewals for Stella and drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

Prodromou, who rejoined McLaren from Red Bull in 2014, expressed enthusiasm about continuing his role and contributing to the team's future success. His position complements Neil Houldey (technical director, engineering) and Mark Temple (technical director, performance) in McLaren's technical leadership structure.
The 56-year-old's extension follows a recent technical restructuring that saw Rob Marshall join as chief designer after David Sanchez's departure. This move further strengthens McLaren's technical team as they aim to build on their championship success.
This strategic retention of key personnel demonstrates McLaren's long-term commitment to maintaining their competitive edge in Formula 1's technical development race.
