Max Taylor has secured a dual-racing program for 2025, competing in both USF Pro 2000 and selected Indy NXT events. The 17-year-old New Jersey native will drive the No. 18 car for HMD Motorsports in five Indy NXT races while maintaining a full USF Pro 2000 season with VRD Racing.

Taylor's Indy NXT schedule includes races at:

  • Barber Motorsports Park
  • Detroit Grand Prix
  • Iowa Speedway
  • WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca
  • Milwaukee Mile

Despite his brief four-year racing career, Taylor has shown remarkable progress:

  • 2021: Started regional karting
  • 2022: Advanced to national karting, winning P1 Stars Championship
  • 2023: Moved to USF Juniors, securing one win
  • 2024: Won USF Juniors Championship with three wins; placed third in USF2000 with four victories

HMD Motorsports team president Mike Maurini praised Taylor's performance during recent testing at Sebring, where he consistently ranked among the fastest drivers. Before his Indy NXT debut in May at Barber Motorsports Park, Taylor will participate in four series tests with the team.

The 2025 season begins in late February at St. Petersburg, where Taylor will make his USF Pro 2000 debut. His race car will feature sponsorship from PINK, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Simplify Asset Management, Unicorn, and Hedgeye.

"I am anxious and excited to get the 2025 season officially underway," said Taylor. "My number one goal and focus is the USF Pro 2000 championship, but I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue my development in Indy NXT."
