During his first practice session, Williamson faced initial challenges trying to apply his Modified racing techniques to the midget car. "The first session wasn't very good as I tried driving it like a Modified, which didn't work out. I locked the motor up and got up over the cushion," he explained.

However, Williamson showed quick improvement in his second session, adopting a different driving approach. "The second session I drove it off the right rear and was really good," he noted, while acknowledging the upcoming challenge of racing alongside other cars.

This marks Williamson's first Chili Bowl appearance, representing a significant departure from his usual racing experience and adding another chapter to his motorsports career.
