Martin Truex Jr. will attempt to qualify for the 2024 Daytona 500 with TRICON Garage, marking the team's NASCAR Cup Series debut. The 2017 Cup champion will pilot the No. 56 Toyota Camry with technical support from Joe Gibbs Racing.

Former crew chief Cole Pearn will reunite with Truex Jr. for this effort, returning to Cup Series competition for the first time since 2019. The pair previously claimed 24 Cup victories and a championship during their five-season partnership.

Bass Pro Shops continues as Truex Jr.'s primary partner, maintaining their longstanding relationship with the veteran driver. The No. 56 entry will compete as an open entry, meaning the team must qualify for the race.

"It's going to be a really cool deal to be able to work with Cole and have the number 56 again," said Truex Jr., who recently ended his tenure with Joe Gibbs Racing.

TRICON Garage, which partnered with Toyota in 2023, has already proven successful in the Truck Series with nine victories, 50 top-five finishes, and consecutive Championship 4 appearances.

David Gilliland, TRICON Garage partner, expressed confidence in their Cup Series debut: "Having raced against Martin for many years, I can confidently say there's no stronger competitor I'd want behind the wheel for our first Cup Series entry at the sport's most prestigious race."
