Lexus Motorsports senior manager Jeff Bal confirmed development is underway on the next generation GT3 race car, though specific details remain under wraps during this development phase.

The RC F GT3, introduced in 2017, initially struggled with 3GT Racing but found tremendous success after partnering with Vasser Sullivan. The car has secured victories at major IMSA events including the Rolex 24 At Daytona and Petit Le Mans, culminating in the 2023 GTD PRO championship title.

As the oldest model currently competing in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the transition to the new GT3 GR comes at an opportune time. The upcoming model, reportedly featuring a turbocharged V8 engine, has been spotted testing in Europe. U.S.-based development is expected to begin in early 2024, preparing for its racing debut at Daytona in January 2026.

The new GT3 GR promises a sleeker, more advanced design to maintain Lexus's competitive edge in GT3 racing. Testing and development will continue throughout 2024 and 2025 to ensure a successful launch in the 2026 season.
