Latest Images Reveal Mid-Ohio Racetrack's Major Renovation Updates

The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is undergoing significant property-wide renovations, with major improvements focused on safety and infrastructure upgrades.

The renovation project includes comprehensive track modifications, with Turn 4 being reshaped and its runoff area filled. New safety features include 5,300 feet of guardrail and fencing installations along the front straight, back straight, and through the Turn 4 and Esses segment.

Infrastructure improvements extend to 4,920 linear feet of access and service roads, benefiting both spectators and competitors. Key areas receiving new pavement include the main spectator entrance from Steam Corners Road, paddock access roads, the false grid road, and areas around the Mid-Ohio Operations Building.

Key Renovation Statistics:

  • 520 linear feet of new track paving
  • 4,900 tons of asphalt used
  • 15,500 cubic yards of fill material
  • 1,370 feet of new drainage pipes
  • Five new catch basins installed
  • 500 concrete blocks repurposed from historic IMSA events
  • 1,600 tons of millings
  • 1,875 material loads transported

The project represents a significant investment in the facility's future, with support from partners including Arcadis, Dallara, Kokosing Construction, Kokosing Materials, and The National Bank of Indianapolis. The renovated facility will welcome competitors and fans beginning spring 2025.
