Late Model Winners Emerge: Seawright, Herlong, Drellos, Whitener Dominate Sunshine Nationals Features
Four DIRTcar Late Model Features kicked off the sixth annual Sunshine Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park, with Sam Seawright, Matt Herlong, Demetrios Drellos, and Mark Whitener claiming victories.

Late model racers with checkered flags
Feature 1 saw Sam Seawright dominate after an early incident eliminated several competitors. Seawright led all 20 laps, building a 10-second lead before a late crash ended the race prematurely. Robert Smith finished second, with Layton Sullivan taking third.
In Feature 2, Matt Herlong executed a dramatic last-lap pass on leader Kaede Loudy to secure the win. After a restart with two laps remaining, Herlong used a slide job in the final corners to steal the victory.
Demetrios Drellos, typically seen in Big Block Modifieds, prevailed in Feature 3 after a thrilling three-wide battle for the lead with Trynt Lloyd and Nathan Bray. Lloyd finished second, with Ethan Wilson completing the podium.
Mark Whitener captured Feature 4, successfully defending against challenges from Winter Shootout points leader Jimmy Thomas and track champion Mikey Kopka. Thomas finished second, while Kole Platt secured third position.
The weekend concludes with Saturday night's $10,000-to-win finale at Volusia Speedway Park.
