Matteo Cairoli has ended his relationship with Lamborghini Squadra Corse effectively immediately. The 28-year-old Italian driver joined Lamborghini's factory program in late 2023 after departing Porsche's factory driver roster.

During his brief tenure with Lamborghini, Cairoli competed in the Iron Lynx IMSA GTP program with the SC63 and participated in the Le Mans Hypercar class. His departure follows Lamborghini's decision to reduce the SC63 program to a single car for the five IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup events.

Reports suggest multiple manufacturers have expressed interest in signing Cairoli in recent months.

"I want to thank all the people I met during my time at Lamborghini Squadra Corse," Cairoli stated. "2024 represented a challenge for my career, and it was an intense 12 months in which I truly gave my best and where I feel I have grown as a person and as a driver. I am looking forward to getting back on track for a new chapter in my career, which will be announced soon."
