Justin Peck Dominates ASCS National Tour Opener at Volusia for First Career Win

Driving for Rudeen Racing in their new partnership, Peck dominated from the outside pole position, successfully defending against pressure from 20-year-old Emerson Axsom and five-time ASCS National Tour champion Sam Hafertepe Jr. throughout the race.
Peck's performance included the fastest qualifying lap in his group and a victory in Heat Race 3. Despite multiple restarts and challenging lapped traffic, his car's versatility allowed him to maintain control throughout varying track conditions.
Axsom, who started fourth and quickly moved to second position, maintained pressure on Peck but couldn't find an opening to challenge for the lead. Hafertepe Jr. advanced from sixth to third early in the race and held that position until the checkered flag.
Notable performances included Austin McCarl's impressive drive from 14th to finish fifth, earning him the Hard Charger honor. Emerson Axsom set Quick Time with a lap of 14.165 seconds.
The ASCS National Tour continues at Volusia on Friday, January 31, with another $3,000-to-win event as part of the DIRTcar Nationals.
