
IndyCar Stars McLaughlin and Newgarden Set for Penske Porsche Test at Sebring
IndyCar stars Scott McLaughlin and Josef Newgarden will participate in next week's IMSA-sanctioned test at Sebring International Raceway, driving Porsche Penske Motorsport 963s. The test runs from February 11-13, with 37 cars participating.
McLaughlin will pilot the No. 6 Penske Porsche, while Newgarden returns to the No. 7 Porsche following his victory at the 2024 Rolex 24 At Daytona. This marks McLaughlin's first IMSA-sanctioned test in the Porsche 963, having recently competed with Trackhouse by TF Sport at Daytona.

Key test participants include:
- Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH making its pre-IMSA debut with drivers Ross Gunn, Roman De Angelis, and Alex Riberas
- British driver Sennan Fielding getting his first Porsche 963 test with JDC-Miller MotorSports
- Honda factory driver Kaku Ohta testing the No. 18 Era Motorsport ORECA 07
- Jonny Edgar testing both AO Racing's "Spike" and "Rexy" cars
- Ben Barker expected to return in the No. 64 Ford Multimatic Motorsports Mustang GT3
The test schedule features GT classes on Tuesday, all four classes on Wednesday, and prototype-only sessions on Thursday. Ten GTP cars will participate, notably missing the No. 40 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac and No. 63 Lamborghini Squadra Corse SC63.
