IndyCar Faces Streaming Crisis After Venu Platform Collapse
The NTT IndyCar Series faces a significant streaming challenge following its transition from NBC and Peacock to FOX. The original streaming plan included two options: cable customer authentication via FOX Sports app and a subscription through the Venu Sports app.

The Venu Sports launch was halted by a lawsuit from Fubo TV, which later merged with The Walt Disney Company. Despite the lawsuit's resolution, Venu Sports closed when major partners ESPN, FOX, and Warner Brothers withdrew their support. ESPN plans to launch its own streaming service later this year.
This development significantly impacts streaming costs for fans. Previously, NBC's Peacock offered IndyCar streaming for $8 monthly (with ads) or $14 (without). Current alternatives include:
- YouTube TV: $83/month
- Hulu + Live TV: $82-96/month
- Regional streaming services: Varying lower prices where available
Penske Entertainment indicates that IndyCar will first focus on establishing its FOX relationship before exploring more affordable streaming options. The goal is to find a solution closer to Peacock's previous price point rather than the current alternatives that cost nearly ten times more.
