IMSA Support Series Set for Double Action at COTA and St. Petersburg This Weekend

IMSA support series racing fans can look forward to exciting action this weekend at two premier venues. The VP Racing SportsCar Challenge heads to Circuit of The Americas (COTA), while the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin takes to the streets of St. Petersburg.

At COTA, VPRC will feature two 45-minute sprint races on Saturday, March 1, using a modified National Circuit layout. The 25-car field includes:

  • 6 LMP3s
  • 10 GTDXs (GT3s)
  • 9 GSXs (GT4s)

Notable VPRC highlights:

  • Gebhardt Intralogistics Motorsports leads LMP3 standings
  • Lone Star Racing joins with local driver Marc Austin in GTDX
  • Adam Adelson leads GTDX after Daytona sweep
  • Kiko Porto dominates GSX class after Daytona victories

In St. Petersburg, the Whelen MX-5 Cup returns with 35 cars, including 13 rookies. Key points:
