IMS Dirt Track Set to Host Historic USAC Indiana Sprint Week Opener in 2025
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) will make history by hosting the opening night of USAC NOS Energy Drink Indiana Sprint Week for the first time in 2025. The event is scheduled for Thursday, July 24, featuring the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship on the Dirt Track at IMS.

Three cars racing on dirt
The 900hp USAC sprint cars will compete on a specially designed dirt track within Turn 3 of the IMS infield. This historic event follows C.J. Leary's victory at the September 2024 invitational race, which marked the first-ever USAC sprint car competition at IMS.
USAC President Kevin Miller emphasizes the significance: "Sprint car racing and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway share a deeply intertwined history, and this event symbolizes the unification of two racing traditions."
The 2025 Indiana Sprint Week schedule includes eight events across different tracks over a 10-night span from July 24 to August 2:
- July 24: Indianapolis Motor Speedway
- July 25: Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville)
- July 26: Kokomo Speedway
- July 27: Lawrenceburg Speedway
- July 30: Circle City Raceway
- July 31: Terre Haute Action Track
- Aug. 1: Bloomington Speedway
- Aug. 2: Tri-State Speedway (Haubstadt)
IMS President Doug Boles adds, "The addition of sprint cars to our calendar highlights our commitment to showcasing the diversity of motorsports. This is more than just a race; it's a celebration of Indiana's racing heritage."
