Imperial Valley Raceway Hosts Two-Night USAC CRA Sprint Car Championship Battle

The USAC CRA Sprint Car Series heads to Imperial Valley Raceway for two nights of racing action on March 14-15, 2024, during the California Mid-Winter Fair.

Event Details:

  • Location: Imperial Valley Expo, 200 East 2nd Street, Imperial, California
  • Friday: Pit gates open 2:00pm, spectator gates 5:30pm, opening ceremonies 7:00pm
  • Saturday: Pit gates open 1:00pm, spectator gates 4:00pm, opening ceremonies 6:15pm
  • Tickets: $10 for adults (18+), free for ages 17 and under

  2. Tommy Malcolm (132 points)
  3. R.J. Johnson (120 points)
  4. Charles Davis Jr. (117 points)

Track History:

  • David Gasper holds the 1-lap track record of 11.770 (set October 19, 2024)
  • Previous USAC/CRA winners: David Gasper and Ricky Lewis
  • The track has hosted sprint car racing since 1957

Technical Requirements:

  • Mufflers not required
  • Mandatory: transponders, one-way radios, front axle tether systems, full containment seats
  • Cockpit adjustable shocks allowed
  • Fuel and tires not available at track
  • USAC license required (must be purchased online prior to event)

The event features full racing programs each night with the SoCal Lightning Sprints also on the card. Cole Wakim currently leads the Rookie of the Year standings, with multiple top drivers expected to compete for victory at this historic quarter-mile track below sea level.
