Despite his background in pavement racing, Gossel has dedicated recent years to developing his dirt track skills. His rookie ASCS season saw mixed results, with six top-10 finishes in 26 Feature starts, including two eighth-place finishes at Texarkana Speedway and Lincoln County Speedway.

A significant highlight came at the World Short Track Challenge at Riverside International Speedway, where Gossel qualified for the main event among 57 competitors and finished 16th. This performance showcased his strength on shorter tracks and bullrings, which suit his aggressive driving style.
Engine issues plagued his rookie season until switching to a Shark engine from Danny Wood, which brought immediate improvement in performance. Gossel recently gained valuable experience running a 410 engine with the World of Outlaws series at Volusia Speedway Park, which he believes will benefit his ASCS racing.
Gossel races alongside his father, Bryan, a veteran Sprint Car racer who introduced him to the sport. Their unique father-son dynamic adds an extra layer of complexity to their on-track interactions.
The ASCS National Tour continues at Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, OK, on April 12, where Gossel will continue his sophomore campaign. Founded in 1992, ASCS has grown to become the premier 360 Sprint Car Series in the country, featuring both national and regional competitions.
