Dennis Hauger secured his first Indy NXT victory at St. Petersburg in dominant fashion, leading every lap from pole position in his series debut. The Norwegian driver, piloting the No. 28 Rental Group car for Andretti Global, became the first driver since Linus Lundqvist in 2021 to win in their Indy NXT debut.

Hauger, who previously won the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2021 and collected five wins in Formula 2, demonstrated complete control throughout the race despite four caution periods. The race was converted from its scheduled 45 laps to a 55-minute timed event due to the multiple yellow flags.

Andretti Global secured a 1-2 finish with rookie Lochie Hughes taking second place in the No. 26 McGinley Clinic/USF Pro Championship car. Caio Collet completed the podium in the No. 76 HMD Motorsports entry.

Notable performances included:

  • Myles Rowe equaling his career-best with fourth place
  • Salvador de Alba finishing fifth
  • Jordan Missig achieving a career-best sixth place
  • Rookies Sophia Floersch and Hailie Deegan finishing 12th and 14th respectively

The race concluded under caution after Jack William Miller crashed in Turn 9 with just over two minutes remaining. At that point, Hauger had built a 2.4-second lead over his teammate Hughes.
