The DS Penske driver became the first polesitter to win in Formula E after 17 races, thanks to strategic use of Attack Mode and superior energy management. After emerging from his 30-second fast charge pit stop in eighth position, Guenther used his remaining two Attack Modes to mount a comeback.

The German driver's winning move came on the final lap against Oliver Rowland, who had depleted his Attack Mode earlier and was struggling with energy management. Despite Rowland's strong defensive driving, Guenther capitalized on his opponent's need to lift early in the last corner.

"He was defending so well that it was just about if he gets the cut or not for the last corner," Guenther explained. "He made himself very wide, but obviously I knew if he had to lift early, then I've got the chance, and I took it at the end."

This victory marks Guenther's sixth in Formula E and his first with DS Penske since joining the team. It continues his strong start to the season, following solid performances in São Paulo and Mexico.

Guenther acknowledged the challenging nature of Formula E competition: "If you want to win a race in Formula E, really all the stars have to be aligned. The competition here is so incredibly tight, and you always have to stay with both feet on the ground."
