Brad Keselowski remains determined to capture both the elusive Daytona 500 victory and a second NASCAR Cup Series championship, achievements that have proven challenging despite his impressive racing career.

In his 15 attempts at the Daytona 500, Keselowski has shown strong performance with 180 laps led, though only securing three top-10 finishes. His closest brush with victory came in 2014, finishing third after a crucial restart positioned him on the outside of the front row. A notable heartbreak occurred in 2021 when a last-lap move against teammate Joey Logano ended in a multi-car crash.

His championship journey tells a different story. After claiming the Cup Series title in 2012 with Team Penske during his third full season, Keselowski has made the Championship 4 only twice - in 2017 and 2020. Now at age 40, he approaches these goals with a different perspective than he did at 28.

"I'm in a different place in my life in so many ways, personally, professionally and beyond," Keselowski reflects. "Your 20s to your 40s... things stand out as things you recognize and appreciate versus what you don't."

Despite the challenges, Keselowski maintains a pragmatic approach to racing, particularly regarding the Daytona 500. "When they load those haulers up Sunday night it's going to be all Atlanta. It's over. Daytona doesn't exist anymore," he explains, highlighting the constant forward momentum required in NASCAR's demanding schedule.

The veteran driver continues his pursuit of both achievements, understanding that each race presents a new opportunity for success in NASCAR's premier division.
