GM Expands Plug and Charge Feature to EVgo Network, Bolt EVs Now Compatible
Plug and Charge technology is now available for GM's electric vehicle lineup through EVgo's network, marking a significant advancement in charging convenience for Bolt, Hummer EV, and Cadillac Lyriq owners.
The feature, integrated into GM's Ultium Charge 360 ecosystem, allows drivers to simply plug in their vehicle and start charging without requiring additional payment steps or app interactions. Initially exclusive to EVgo stations, GM plans to expand this capability across other charging networks within the Ultium Charge 360 network throughout North America.
To access Plug and Charge, users need only an active EVgo account. The system automatically handles payment processing and authentication when the charging cable is connected, streamlining the entire charging experience for GM EV drivers.
This enhancement demonstrates GM's commitment to simplifying the electric vehicle ownership experience, making charging as straightforward as possible for their growing electric vehicle customer base. The addition of Plug and Charge technology brings GM's charging experience closer to the convenience of traditional gas station visits, but with the benefits of electric mobility.
