IDEC Sport, led by Nicolas Minassian, will contribute valuable expertise in LMP racing while offering Genesis a strategic base near ORECA's headquarters and Circuit Paul Ricard. The partnership emerged following discussions between Minassian and Genesis Magma Racing team principal Cyril Abiteboul.

The collaboration includes a driver development program featuring:

  • Logan Sargeant (ex-F1 driver)
  • Jamie Chadwick (former W Series champion)
  • Mathys Jaubert (French racing talent)

These drivers will compete in IDEC's No. 18 car, with all three being evaluated for potential future roles in Genesis' factory team. The operation will feature an equal split between Genesis and IDEC personnel, ensuring knowledge transfer and practical experience.

For Genesis, this partnership provides:

  • Real-world experience in ACO racing
  • Access to established infrastructure
  • Driver evaluation opportunities
  • Technical preparation for their 2026 WEC entry

The GMR-001 prototype is expected to begin track testing in summer 2025, marking a significant milestone in Genesis' journey to Hypercar competition. This strategic approach through ELMS demonstrates Genesis' commitment to building a strong foundation before entering top-tier endurance racing.
