The silver-graded Indonesian driver moves from WRT to United Autosports, reuniting with his 2024 teammate Leung. Together they previously secured victory at the 6 Hours of Imola and a podium finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This marks Gelael's fifth full FIA WEC season, with an impressive record of four race wins and ten podium finishes, including two second-place finishes at Le Mans.

"I am super-excited to be in a car with United Autosports after being long-term rivals," Gelael said. "I think it will be a really good experience and a strong opportunity to win the championship after finishing second twice... fifth time is the charm!"

United Autosports CEO Richard Dean expressed confidence in the new lineup: "After years of competing against each other in LMP2 and LMGT3, we now have his speed, skill and determination on our side. Together with Darren and Marino, we have an incredibly competitive driver line-up in the No. 95 McLaren... it's a very real WEC championship contender."
