Despite knowing about his impending departure, Sainz maintained exceptional focus and dedication throughout the 2024 season. Vasseur particularly commended the Spaniard's ability to remain professional while negotiating with other teams.
"I asked everybody to be focused on 2024 until the end," Vasseur explained. "Carlos did very well. He was amazing all season, even when he was discussing with other teams. He stayed very professional, very dedicated and he did a brilliant job."
Following the conclusion of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Vasseur is now shifting focus to the 2025 season. He expressed optimism about Ferrari's future, noting the team's collective improvement and positive atmosphere. "We all have the feeling that we can do a better job — including me — and this is crucial if you want to improve," he stated.
While Sainz has already begun testing with Williams at the Yas Marina Circuit, Ferrari must wait to welcome Hamilton, who is currently fulfilling his farewell commitments with Mercedes and its sponsors.
