EVgo and Meijer Partner to Expand Fast Charging Network Across Ohio
EVgo is expanding its electric vehicle charging network in Ohio through a strategic partnership with Midwest supermarket chain Meijer. The collaboration has already resulted in 24 charging stalls across six locations in Michigan and Ohio.
The expansion is supported by National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) funding, with Ohio receiving a $13.8 million allocation. EVgo will develop 14 of the 20 planned new charging locations in the state.
Under the agreement, EVgo will supply white-label chargers to Meijer and take full responsibility for:
- Installation
- Operations
- Regular maintenance
- Network management
This partnership enhances EVgo's growing charging infrastructure while providing convenient charging locations for EV drivers shopping at Meijer stores. The initiative supports the broader national effort to create a more comprehensive EV charging network across the United States.
The collaboration between EVgo and Meijer represents a significant step in making electric vehicle charging more accessible in the Midwest, particularly in Ohio's key commercial and transit corridors.
