DIRTcar Champions Honored at Season-Ending Awards Banquet in Syracuse

DIRTcar held its season-ending awards ceremony in Syracuse, celebrating achievements across multiple racing divisions at the downtown Marriott.

Mat Williamson claimed the DIRTcar Series Modified Championship, followed by Matt Sheppard and Anthony Perrego. Felix Roy won fan favorite among the 18 platinum drivers, while Alex Payne earned Rookie of the Year honors.

In the Sportsman Series, Cody McPherson took the overall championship. Regional champions included Zach Sobotka (Central), Cody McPherson (West), Shane Pecore (North), and Jason Gray (East).

Felix Roy captured the 358 Modified Series championship, with Lance Willix and Dave Marcuccilli finishing second and third respectively. Willix's impressive 2024 season included 38 events, seven wins, and multiple track championships.

Pete Stefanski secured his fifth Pro Stock Series Championship, narrowly defeating Beau Ballard by eight points, with Jocelyn Roy finishing third. Ballard notably won his first Super DIRT Week event and the Albany-Saratoga Speedway Pro Stock Track Championship.

Hoosier Tire Weekly Champions included Chris Bonoffski (Four Cylinder), Luke Horning (Pro Stocks), Cody McPherson (Sportsman), Lance Willix (358-Mod), and Peter Britten (Modifieds).

The Number One Speed Rookie of the Year awards went to Roxanne Roy (Pro Stock), Dylan Moore (Sportsman), Andrew Buff (358-Mods), and David Schilling (Modifieds). Notably, Roxanne Roy followed in her father Jocelyn's footsteps, who won the same award 17 years ago.

Dave "Sparky" Dixon was recognized for his 42-year career with DIRTcar as the circuit's primary electrician. He plans to retire on his 80th birthday, March 22, 2025, after his final official duty at Volusia in February.
