Cracker Barrel has partnered with NRG Energy to install high-powered EVgo charging stations at four locations across the Dallas/Fort Worth area, expanding electric vehicle charging options for travelers.

The new charging stations, installed in Burleson, Arlington, DeSoto, and Mesquite stores, feature two types of chargers:

  • DC Fast charger: Delivers 30 miles of range in 10 minutes
  • Level 2 charger: Provides up to 25 miles of range per hour

"Cracker Barrel's proximity to interstate highways adds reassuring confidence and convenience for EV drivers," said CEO Sandra B. Cochran. "With these charging stations, guests can essentially charge their vehicles in about the same time it takes to enjoy a meal."

The initiative is part of NRG's larger plan to install:

  • 70 Freedom Station sites in Dallas/Fort Worth
  • 50 sites in Houston
  • Currently: 11 stations operational in Houston, 6 in Dallas/Fort Worth

Station Locations:

  • Arlington: 1251 North Watson Road
  • Burleson: 13301 South Freeway
  • DeSoto: 1421 N. Interstate 35E
  • Mesquite: 5304 North Galloway Avenue

This partnership supports both companies' commitment to sustainable transportation while maintaining Cracker Barrel's tradition of serving travelers along America's highways. The charging stations are available 24/7 for eVgo network subscribers.

The project aims to create a well-connected charging infrastructure between eVgo cities while gathering valuable data on charging station usage patterns to optimize future installations.
