
Compton's First Public EV Fast-Charging Station Breaks Ground at Soledad Center
Construction has begun on Compton's first-ever DC fast-charging (DCFC) station for electric vehicles at the Soledad Center, located at South Central Ave. and Alondra Blvd. The groundbreaking marks a significant milestone for the city's sustainable transportation infrastructure.
EVgo, the nation's largest public EV fast charging network, is leading the construction project. The station is expected to be completed by early June, with Southern California Edison (SCE) scheduled to complete the electrification process in August.
This development represents an important step forward in expanding EV charging accessibility in Compton, making electric vehicle ownership more practical for local residents while supporting California's clean energy goals.
