The Evans, GA native will transition from his traditional No. 97 to the No. 2, a strategic move to establish Tri Star Promotions' unique identity. The number change was a mutual decision between Overton and team owner Dave Steine.

Overton's rookie season achievements include:

  • 13th place finish in overall points
  • Third place in the MD3 rookie standings
  • Eight top-10 finishes
  • Career-best sixth place at Maquoketa Speedway
  • Led 16 laps throughout the season

The partnership between Overton and Tri Star Promotions began in late 2023 when he replaced Ryan Gustin. Despite limited Super Late Model experience, Steine recognized Overton's potential and continues to support his development.

The 2025 World of Outlaws Late Models season kicks off at Volusia Speedway Park during DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals (January 23-25). Notably, this is where Overton made his Feature debut, showing consistent improvement from 23rd place at Sunshine Nationals to 11th place during DIRTcar Nationals.

The upcoming season features 57 races, with all events available live on DIRTVision.
