
BMW's Vanthoor Claims Second Straight GTP Pole at Sebring 12 Hours
BMW secured pole position for the 73rd Sebring 12 Hours as Dries Vanthoor, in his Sebring debut, set the fastest time in the No. 24 Team RLL BMW M Hybrid V8. The car, sporting a special livery celebrating BMW North America's 50th anniversary, will be driven by Vanthoor, Philipp Eng, and Kevin Magnussen.
Vanthoor's pole-winning lap of 1m47.091s narrowly beat Tom Blomqvist's Meyer Shank Racing Acura by just 25 milliseconds. Porsche Penske Motorsport locked out the second row, with Felipe Nasr's No. 7 car ahead of Mathieu Jaminet's No. 6.
